Choose one photo from each of the eight groups of photos then list them in order from your first choice to your eighth choice.

EXAMPLE:

1) Custer
2) Grant
3) Lee
4) Sherman
5) Farragut
6) Butler
7) Kilpatrick
8) Bragg

The voting will end on Monday morning of the 31st. Then I will post eight polls and voting on the photos will last for one week. This will eliminate half of the photos.

I will not have computer access from the 21st to the 30th. If you have questions DO NOT post them on this thread. Post them here-

Thanks.

1. Henry B. Hays
2. Thomas P. Ochiltree
3. Robert Nugent
4. William Mahone
5. Ambrose Burnside
6. John P. Bankhead
7. Llewellyn F. Haskell
8. John L. Worden

(I know everyone expected me to vote for Henry Walke, but I've seen other photos of him; and the famous one is actually rather unusual for him. He normally wore a much fuller beard, so the most-frequently-seen one looks even odder to me than it does already...)

ETA: Oh... wait... I selected the "number one" from each group of 8 and then listed them by group (i.e., Hays was from Group 1, Ochiltree from Group 2, etc.); I didn't reorder them in any way.

In order that I'd select them... (You're going to make me do two things at once, which I'm notoriously bad at!)...

1. Ambrose Burnside
2. John P. Bankhead
3. Willam Mahone
4. Llewellyn F. Haskell
5. Thomas P. Ochiltree
6. Robert Nugent
7. Henry B. Hays
8. John L. Worden

*I wanted to vote for Harney because I once lived in Harney County, OR but he just can't compete with these guys.

@donna @FarawayFriend @John Hartwell did you put your choices in the order you want? Or did you put them in the order of their groups?

I'm so sorry, Mike, I misunderstood and put them in the order of their groups. But I double checked and I can live with the order as it is. Only that Pickett is on three is a bit unnerving. To me, not to Pickett, for sure!
I'm okay with the order as it is now, I'm just sorry that I'm too dumb to follow instructions, so the blame is on me - and on me only!!
(And we must see to it that I will not win, as I could not use the amazon. com voucher anyway, :D)

Were the instructions not clear or was it your mistake? Wondering if it was my fault?
(There is amazon.de.)

I didn't notice Mark made the same mistake. I'm taking the blame for this. You guys who listed them by order of their groups arrange them in order you want. This is a first time event and some bugs are to be expected. Everyone here is a good sport. If others make the same mistake I will have to allow them the same opportunity.

Do not delete! You still have a chance to win.

The instructions were clear enough, all my fault for not reading closely.
I've already deleted it.
I'm really not much for games ... the more complicated they get, the less I am likely to play. That's just me.
I'll enjoy watching the results.
Thanks.
