Vague NC Genealogy Help

I took a poke at researching John A Woollen and he is stubborn - but he does show up in 1850 with his parents in Guilford county NC

D'oh, thanks for that little nudge. It seems that John's brother was Charles Webster Woollen whose gravestone is my avatar. For some reason I had never noticed before. How embarrassing.

I looked up Shirt-Tail Bend and Bayou Meto, Arkansas. Shirt-Tail Bend is the setting of a hyperbolic tale, "The Big Bear of Arkansas." The story describes it as a place where beets grow so large that three months after planting they are mistaken for cedar stumps, and potato hills can be mistaken for Indian mounds.

Bayou Meto today is famous for duck hunting. Check out this video, it's insane.
