Hey folks,

have made an article about the top-ranking graduates, means those who graduated first in their class, of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point; and thought I´d use it to make another one for CWT. So I limited it to the relevant timeframe, gave it a 3-color key and added additional information for the respective civil war service of the officers.

By the way, the original list covers the whole time spectrum, from 1802 until 2015 ... but there are less then two dozen entries for the 20th and 21st century yet, so if you have information about top-ranking graduates not on the list please add them yourself or pass the information to me.

Makes a very good case for the importance, discipline, and intelligence of engineers. ...

On this I would have loved to answer that Bragg, Pemberton and Early were engineers, too. But they weren´t; they all were artillerists in Florida ...

Instead they have troubled minds like Beauregard. Though Pemberton became an engineer after Vicksburg.
