Great story and also quite sad for him to die so close to home. Reminded me immediately of the death of Confederate soldier Wesley Culp who died very close to home at Gettysburg. The famous part of the battlefield, Culps Hill, is named for his family. Culp was also a close friend of Ginnie Wade the only civilian casualty of the battle.
 
Sometimes it all about being in the right place at the right time. Miracles do happen and the discovery of this great piece of history is one of them.
