'Seizing Freedom' event discusses slaves post Civil War
David Roediger gave a presentation on the struggle for freedom after the Civil War, which is a major theme from his book, “Seizing Freedom: Slave Emancipation and Liberty for All” on Feb. 16 in Meyer Library Room 101.
The presentation was part of the African and African-American studies speaker series “Shattering the Silences.” It was sponsored by the African and African-American studies committee, the College of Humanities and Public Affairs, and the Political Science Department.
