Since I'm getting very close to having my Civil War reenacting kit completely put together, I'm considering looking into Revolutionary War reenacting. I don't know if I'd be doing Militia, British Regulars or Continental yet. Right now, I'm just thinking about it. Anybody know where I can find a Rev War-era sutlers online, to see how much I'd need to pay for uniforms and equipment?

    God bless!

I had considered RW reenacting at one time, too, but the fact that I live way out west in Nevada, and no RW units here to speak of, that makes it kind of a tough gig.
I can tell you that the cost of outfitting yourself is comparable to ACW reenacting. Some items will be hideously expensive, like military great coats and some head gear, as well as boots, and flintlock muskets if you don't already have one. Other items like under clothing won't be as expensive.
Here is a web site to a RW reenactor club. It provides numerous sutler links for you to check out. The only one I found familiar was C&D Jarnagin, which also outfits ACW reenactors.

    Good luck.

I will reccomend you do the same thing I do for ACW reenactors. Find a Unit and settle on an impression first and see what they allow and reccomend. Different units have different standards and some have tailors in the unit or have vendors deals etc.

That's how I did it with Civil War, joining my group and getting the uniform. Just need to figure out if I want to do Militia, Continental Army or ("gasp") British Infantry. I know some guys at work who do British, and have talked to them about joining up possibly. But, we'll see. Thanks for the suggestion. God bless!

I missed the part of his presentation when he told how it was built. He sure had one heck of a yell in battle!
