I was fascinated by these small, local history books as a young man. Lots of fun facts about rural life....usually about 1880-1910. They always sell well to a local market and visitors to tourists areas. Such as Branson, MO, Eureka Springs, Ark and other "rural" tourist areas.

I was reading this one, now, for fun and to see if it would shed any light on any ACW issues or families. Surprisingly it did give dates and names for several ACW actions. Sadly they were almost completely assassination of Union men by southern partisans.

The 2nd thing I noticed was the book was in it's seventh printing. But no publisher was listed anywhere.
Is this the only way this could make money was to have no publisher and middleman?
Who actually prints, binds and covers a book like this?

It's just for fun, but it did make me have questions.
The man has self-published 11 smallish books on 11 different subjects and only his first was history. He is a MU graduate and has lectured for some reason in all 50 states.

Obviously he likes to write and at least broke even, or he would have stopped!
