Ordnance Returns for the 26th North Carolina

That's going to be a TALL order. A lot of those type records were destroyed, lost with the capture of the regimental wagons or weren't even keep in the last 2 years of the war.

By chance, does anyone have the ordnance returns for the 26th North Carolina Infantry available from 1863-1865?

Thank you,
Mark
I can tell you that they were originally issued what Todd calls M1822 muskets, so I assume they were M1816 dated 1822. Figure that some were flintlock and others converted, they had these at least through 1862 and reported in March of '62 that they were in destitute condition. He doesn't go beyond that so I would imagine they were issued Enfields in late '62 or early '63. I guess a diary excerpt would tell.

Thanks. Sometimes it seems those records can pop up in the weirdest places. I don't usually research CS units, so this is something new. Illinois was fortunate in having a great book published from the National Archives papers, Arming the Suckers, by Ken Baumann.
