    I like the soft focus on this image. Have to admit I didn't know much about him, turns out he was a Union General killed during the Battle of the Wilderness in 1864.

    Indeed, it's not as sharp as the NA's other scans, which I kind of like - And yeah, which would put this image before the war, even, seeing as he's out of uniform!

    Did not realize that was an NA image. One of the better ones I've seen. Usually not a big fan of what the NA posts.

    the eyes are really good and also his vest you can almost feel the texture.
