For the first time in two months I was able to walk today. It took me three times but I was able to walk across the physical therapy office. I had the doctor and Dad leading me along with a nurse following me behind with my wheel chair. Walking again felt good and yet so weird as I was shuffling along. I was given some more exercises to help me out with my feet and lifting them.

Dad is still tripping out over it. He freaked when I was able to stand for a full minute and twenty seconds.

I am tired and quite sore but so happy I was able to do that.

I'm definately on the mend and I go in for therapy two days a week. The doctor estimates within a month I may be able to walk without assistance.

Excellent news Hannah, way to hang in there and work through it! This was something that both you and your dad needed, I'm glad you made it happen.

Atta girl! I had no doubt you'd overcome this. You're not all the way yet, but those first steps are mighty important. Congrats to you and your dad.....

And as a coach, I have to add.....now you have to work even HARDER

Those first steps are, indeed, the first steps. But you do have to take them. Make them worth something!

Super! Been there myself. Your doing great. It took me 1 year to get out of the wheelchair, and 6 more to not use any aids. Your already ahead of me. FANTASTIC.

Congrats! I can speak from experiance that it is indeed a great feeling, you have a LOT of work ahead of you but it's worth it. When the PT people tell you not to overdo it... listen. I didn't and paid a stiff price in pain.

    Hannah,

I am so proud of you! Great news and a superb effort on your part. Now remember, slow and steady wins the race, and its good to know you are now officially out of the starting gate. Pace yourself, and you will improve every day.

Again, I am so proud of what you have accomplished!

    Sincerely,
    Unionblue
