DUNMORE — Marking 150 years since the Civil War ended and the death of President Abraham Lincoln, a group of historians shared what they know about public figures and many ordinary people who were, in some way, connected to the war.
The Slocum Hollow Historians, wearing hoop skirts, suspenders and bonnets reminiscent of the post-Civil War era, led a crowd through the winding, tree-covered paths of Forest Hill Cemetery off Jefferson Avenue on Sunday, stopping at headstones along the way for short history lessons.
