    Not exactly a movie...

but the History Channel is airing a new special about the Battle of Antietam on April 9th.

The only movie IMDB has listed is Civil War Stories.

We need more CW movies. I liked the Peterburg part of 'Cold Mountain', but wish there were more movies that had more of the soldiers doing the things they did, before, during, and after battles.

There's suppose to be a new flick on Monocacy. The Battle that saved Washington? It's made by the same folks who made Wicked Spring.

That would be interesting. "Wicked Spring" wasn't much of a movie, but it was a very good try at doing a behind-the-scenes look at the soldiers themselves. In that, it beats all the others (IMO). I'll watch it.

Ole: concur that wicked spring isn't anything that would win awards. I thought the uniforms were good (as far as I can tell but I'm not a stitch counter). The ending was unrealistic with them shooting it out with one another. Still, it was a step in the right direction.

Harrison Ford in starring in "Manhunt" based on the recent book about Lincoln's assassination and the pursuit of Booth. I believe he plays a Union officer leading the chase.

Ole, no I don't. Just that it is new. My DVD player stopped working a few weeks ago, saving me the temptation to buy anything new.
