Dear All,
I am trying to find out some information about the 69th New York State Volunteers when they were in Winter Quarters at Stevensburg near Brandy Station, Va during the spring of 1864 prior to the Overland Campaign.
I know that the commander of the (2nd) Irish Brigade at that time was Brig. Gen. Thomas A. Smythe.
This was a temporary command while Col. Richard Brynes was on a recruiting drive in Boston.
But I can not find a definative answer as to who was in command of the 69th NY Regiment and who was in command of Company C. of that Regiment at that time.
If anyone out there can help me I would be most appreciative.
Thank you
G. Stone
