Edit - As it turns out, this is another question on which I'm going to have to give credit for both answers.

Most sources indicate that the mortuary cannon were made of Napoleon cannon barrels, and Civil War Napoleons were generally made of bronze, not iron, although the Confederates, after the loss of their copper mines, did start casting cannon tubes out of iron in 1864.

But in post # 12, C.S.M 1861 has identified a source that says the mortuary cannon were made of iron, so I have to give credit for answers of both True and False.
