Union Brigadier General William Hervey Lamme Wallace was mortally wounded at Shiloh, dying on April 10th, 1862, in his wife's arms; his last words to her were reportedly "Boss, the plane, the plane!" Oh, sorry, those were the last words of the lesser known Union General William Herve Villachaize Wallace. The better-known Wm H. L. Wallace's last words were "We meet in heaven."
