Shelter tent (haft of tent) each men would carry haft, it was made out of canvise with buttons
That would be buttoned together to make a bigger tent.

Edit - Since the question asked how many men were required to carry one tent, the proper answer would be "two."

However, it doesn't require too much of an excursion into the realm of higher mathematics to figure out that if it took one man to carry half a tent, it took two men to carry a whole tent. So I will give credit for this answer.

Two, with each portion called a "shelter half." The tradition endures today, although modern examples snap together instead of using buttons.

pup tent or shelter halves

Edit - Either of these is an acceptable answer to the part of the question that asked what the tent was called, but you failed to answer the part of the question that asked how many men were needed to carry one tent.

Two (one for each half).

Edit - That's how many men were required, but you failed to answer the part of the question that asked what the tent was called.
