As for the bonus I´m not sure. The only people having an adjutant usually were generals or department heads. And of both there were pretty few to were still serving in the field in 1864 ... or about none and only who became so after 55 (Joe Johnston) as far as I can think of right now. So as I´m not sure about this I make a little jump and include regimental adjutants as well ... which leads us to Kenner Garrard. The adjutant of the 2nd Cavalry, he served with both Robert E. Lee and William J. Hardee. He clashed with Lee until 1863 when he transferred to D.C. and then to the west. There he´d clash with Hardee numerous times in 1864, especially during the Atlanta Campaign.
Edit - I can't find anything to confirm that Garrard was adjutant to Hardee. Even if he was, you would have needed to name a battle, rather than a campaign, at which the two met.
