You-all are just lucky I didn't type that subject heading all in caps.

Okay, actually this is the "Best-Seller List" where I left a Bruce Catton book IN THE DUST, BABY.

I'm sure everybody is quaking in his boots before my might.

No fear, Catton is still king of all things Civil War *ducks incoming artillery from Foote fans*. Amazon just has a number of these small, super-specialized "Best-Seller Lists" that puts books in this small sandbox so it's easier to be King of the Hill in terms of sales. (Right now on Amazon, my book ranks at #75,859 in Books. Whoo-hoo! Take that, #75,860!)

This is the list where I outstripped Catton -- though tomorrow will probably show him in front of me again. Which is fine, since a lot of my writing style is a pale imitation of his, like a ghost in the sun.

Yaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy!

You know what....I'm going to buy this specifically for my classroom library. I have my 8th graders that must read a book based in history (80s and back) and do a project and report on it. I'm always in short supply of good history-based books for girls I teach and this will be a great fit. It would be an honor to have it in my library and help you catch and pass #75,858!

That's great! I really appreciate it.

(And ... you might see if your school's librarian could use a copy ....) :whistling:

Oh gosh, congrats! And in honor of your achievement ( someone had to know this was coming ), we've arranged a Rosefiend Parade, a few forums got their floats together in time for photographs.

This is really Campfire Chat.

The rest were there, I was just too late to get a pic.

Are you speaking of Rosefiend's book or mine? I think hers was just recently published so maybe you mean me?
Please accept my sincere apology for the confusion my post caused. That post was referring to Courageous Women of the Civil War: Soldiers, Spies, Medics, and More. I also congratulate you on your book and will also buy a copy of it.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Rosefiend,
Please do me a big favour and take a couple of minutes to tell me about yourself. What is your name, or nom-de-plume?
What is the name of the book? Have you written others? I'd really love to know. I feel it a great privilege just to read Catton's
material. If I was included [irrespective of position] on a list of writers with him I would be as happy as a Christmas Tree and would die happy. I am seriously jealous! Pray, tell me all about yourself.
Micky.

Oh My Goodness, JPK, you've done it again! Thanks for the laugh, especially the Sickles float.
