In the last campaign in Alabama, Col. Chrysler captured a battle flag near Claiborne, AL. It was "The Claiborne Guards" Flag .After the war he wrote back to The Monroe County Journal to return the flag. It is now in the state archives museum in Montgomery. The place of the last battle in Monroe County Alabama is named Chrysler in honor of the Union Colonel who treated the people and property well. My Grandmothers brother was in this conflict and wrote abouit the account in a local paper in the 1920's
