Golden Thread Generals At A Younger Age

Found a real gem: my favorite Union commander, John F. Reynolds, in 1846 in Mexico:

Looks like George Pickett?.

It is. Kinda. His head. They did not have photoshop back then but had scissors and glue. It is from this portrait of Pickett. His head was cut and glued on a dwarf's body. Much later, since both are paper copies and not tintypes or ambrotypes

Speaking of Pickett, here he is as a teenager in the USMA:

Seriously? But where are the curls? And the blue eyes?

Not how I pictured him. Interesting, instead of gun and knife, a map and spyglass:smile: Thanks!

Who do you think this is? Maybe you are confusing him with someone else

The guy was totally brilliant in math and geography and such (he actually helped Longstreet with homework) but he was horrible with weapons and tactics and he ended up being a (pretty much) horrible (ok they were worse, but most of them were politicians) general in the Civil War.

Does this one of his USMA roommate count?

No, I'm not confusing anything:smile: I didn't read "roommate"! I think Longstreet is good looking
and I'm assuming that is Rosecrans and not so much. Of course, Gettysburg, the movie gets in the way
of perception too. Sorry for my confusion.
