You had a good year. I love reading and seeing the pics of members' visits to battlefields and other CW sites. I've already posted pics in other threads so I will just do a year-in-review reply. I originally had planned to do at least 3 battlefield tours this year but the third got postponed. The 2 were dream trips.

In January,I visited Richmond/Petersburg and saw the following in order:

1. NPS Petersburg from the Eastern Front Visitor Center to The Crater.
2. Five Forks Battlefield
3. Monument Avenue
4. The Confederate White House
5. MOC downtown Richmond
6. Tredegar Iron Works/ACW Museum
7. Hollywood Cemetery
8. Cold Harbor Battlefield
9. Cold Harbor National Cemetery
10. Gaines' Mill Battlefield

In June,I went to Chattanooga for 5 nights and days. It was the first guided tour I'd ever been on. Saw the following in order:

1. A day trip to Franklin before the guided tour started.: Carter House Visitor Center,Carter House,Lotz House,Carnton Plantation,McGavock Confederate Cemetery
2. Chickamauga Battlefield and Visitor Center
3. Wauhatchie Battlefield
4. Point Park/Lookout Mountain
5. William Little House
6. Tunnel Hill--- Museum,Western & Atlantic RR Tunnel and the Clisby Austin House
7. Chattanooga Confederate Cemetery
8. Chattanooga National Cemetery

In July,I was in Pittsburgh for 4 days and visited the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum the second day there.

In August I went to the annual Jefferson Civil War Symposium in Jefferson,TX and visited Oakwood Cemetery and The Jefferson Historical Society Museum while there.

In November I went to the annual Hood's Texas Brigade Association Re-activated Seminar which was in Corsicana,TX this year and visited the Hodge House and Old Chatfield Cemetery while there and saw the Pearce Collection at Navarro College.

I went to the county courthouses in Giddings,Jefferson and Corsicana to see the ACW monuments on the courthouse grounds also.

Throw in the Houston CWRT meetings and speakers,a lotta good books and this site and it was a great CW learning year for this guy. So much to be grateful for. Got plans for another year like it in 2017,the good Lord willing.

That's a pretty impressive list, Bill! And your photos are just great, too.

I'm a piker by comparison. This summer my wife Carol and I toured parts of the Battle of South Mountain State Park (Maryland), including a stop in nearby historic Middletown. We were in Williamsburg, Va., at Thanksgiving and visited Redoubt Park, with a little side trip to the NPS site at Tredegar Iron Works on the Richmond riverfront.

(I'm not much of a photographer. This photo from National Park Service.)

I'm curious about Beaver Dam Creek park. Is the foot bridge in your photo supposed to be located on the same spot as the war-time bridge?

I am hoping to get there for a visit in the spring...

Thank you, great photos of a wonderful year of touring! Wishing you health, happiness and safe travel in following your agenda for next year! Please share again with us!!!
How about sharing your year-in-review.

I am not sure, sir......

Ironically enough, many of the photos we have taken from various trips to Gettysburg have been posted throughout the year. Perhaps next year we should reserve some for the year end review? It is difficult to do when we return with a photo we think others will enjoy seeing...it then gets posted.

As you can see in my first post above,I don't repost pics. I just recap my year in CW travels.
