Trivia Game # 54 - Week 5



Here are the questions for Week 5 of Game # 54

1. On their retreat from the battle of Sharpsburg, Confederate soldiers hooted at and shouted down the playing of a song by a regimental band. What was the song?

2. After Appomattox, Robert E. Lee stayed in Richmond for a couple months, then left.
What was the name of the place (not the town or city) where Lee lived for three months after he left Richmond and until he went to Lexington, Va. to become president of Washington College?

3. After what 1862 battle were orders soon issued by both the AoP and the ANV that medical officers should not be held as prisoners of war?

4. This West Point professor taught the subject of military science to most all of the academy graduates who fought in the war. The author of several books concerning engineering and fortifications, he later killed himself by jumping off a steamboat forward of the wheel. Name him.

5. A few days after Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, George McClellan invited 3 other generals to a dinner at his tent over which they discussed the matter. Who were the 3 generals?
