Trivia Game # 52 - Week 1

Time to begin a new game. New players are welcome to join the game at any time, but the first week of any game is always an especially good time.

Here are the questions for Week 1 of Game # 52

1. In what month of what year did Confederate forces under Thomas J. (Stonewall) Jackson first cross the Potomac River and enter the state of Maryland?

2. What Private made the first capture of a General at Gettysburg? Name the Private and the captured General.

3. This general participated in several of the major battles in the western theater, from Fort Donelson through Bentonville, and in the process was wounded six times, three times in a single battle. Name him.

4. This holiday children’s book, first published in 1867, concerns three little girls and two bearded gentlemen. Profits from sales of the book were intended to benefit orphans of the war. Give the title of the book.

5. Organized by commodity traders of a Western city, this regiment was mustered in in August 1862. Among the battles in which it saw action were Stone’s River, Chickamauga, and Nashville. Name the regiment.

Answers are due by 6 pm (eastern) on Saturday, April 5. Good Luck!

Wow. What an odd week! One perfect score, four others with no more than 3 correct, and
two regular players gone AWOL.

I'd appolgize for 'too-tough' questions had not one player get them all correct. Well, I'll appoligize anyway. Sorry.

Congrats to Sarladaise. Great work!

Gay Mathis moves up to the first Division after her high (and perfect) score in Game #51.

Here are the scores for game #52, after Week 1:

FIRST DIVISION

Sarladaise - 5
Gay Mathis - 3
Susan Sweet - 2
Rad2duhbone53 -

SECOND DIVISION

Sockknitter - 1
natek1029 - 1
Hoosier -

Thanks for playing. See you next week!
