Dadgum!

I recognized "Grumble" as the nickname of Confederate general William Jones, but did not know there was a Union general with a nickname of "Grimes," and assumed that Grimes was a real name, rather than a nickname. I kept looking through the lists of battles in which Grumble Jones and his fellow Confederate general Bryan Grimes participated, and couldn't figure out why there didn't seem to be any single battle at which both had been present.

Well, you were on the right track, for a while.

So Close........ I narrowed it down to Lycoming County and Williamsport but couldn't find Stearns. I did find the sutler for the 6th Pa. Cavalry - a Felix Mann but couldn't connect him with a store on the west branch. Nutz!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, players now have been "Dadgummed" and "Dumbfounded". Not sure what that all means, but, as we do mean to challenge you folks, it does seem promising!
