Default Looking For a Few Good Game Players

Milton Bradley, Beaver Stadium, Angry Bees, Roundheads, Wyatt Earp, Eli Lilly, Hungarian, George Patton, Woodstock, Hot Springs, Shad, Montgomery Clift, Henry Morton Stanley, Wooden Mortars, Have Gun Will Travel, Magnolia.

What do all these have in common?

They are just a few of the answers to our WBTS Trivia Game questions.

Trivia may not even be the best word for our game. It tends more toward exploring the unknown as well as the somewhat known of the War between the States.

It is a game in which players are not challenged so much on their knowledge of the War, but on how well they can find the answers to questions about the War.

So, it is a game. Solve a puzzle posed by the question.

Hopefully, it is also an educational tool, in that as the players search for answer, they inevitably find more than they were looking for.

-

To increase the competition, we are looking for a few more players, the more the better. One need not be an ’expert’, just inquisitive.

We also offer prizes for highest scoring players. All players who continually participate are eligible (and guaranteed) for a prize.

Prizes so far, since August 2007, include these:

The Civil War Memoirs of Ulysses S. Grant

With Grant and Meade from the Wilderness to Appomattox
by Theodore Lyman

Retreat from Gettysburg by Kent Masterson Brown

-

Each game consists of 6 weeks of questions, 5 each week.

The next game (#50) starts this week and answers are due by Saturday, January 5, 2008.

That gives new players plenty of time to join, and it is best to join at the start of a new game.

Watch the WBTS Trivia Game thread for Game #50 questions. They will be posted before December 29.

Hope you will check it out and give it a try. For those who don't expect to be able to compete regularly, you are still all welcome to submit any answers any time, whenever you wish.
