Now don't laugh at me, but I have a question about what you mean by 'tip' of the fish hook. Do you mean the eye end that you tie to your line, or the pointy end that you hope hooks the fish! Can you clarify or is that 'illegal'. I am assuming at this point you mean the eye end.
Thanks,
Miss Markie

Default Clarification on Question 21

Well, we don't require contestants in the Civil War trivia game to have read The Compleat Angler.

The tip is the pointy end that you hope hooks the fish.

Thanks!!

All right then,

21. The 'barb' end of the hook was Culp's Hill
22. President Jefferson Davis was first married to Zachary Taylor's daughter, Sarah Knox Taylor (who died soon after she and Davis were married) thus he was the son-in-law of his former General and President.
23. Depends on the weather! He wore a tall beaver hat to shield his eyes from the sun, and a blue umbrella to protect him from the rain (source-my 6 volume set of bios of CSA Generals)
24. The Grand Review, taking the two days listed, 6 hours each day.
25. William Whiting had the highest academic record at the academy until 1903 when Douglas McArthur topped him!

When I answered 'academy' in the last question, I do mean West Point.

21- The pointy end of the hook is Culp's Hill;

22- Confederate President Jefferson Davis eloped with Sarah Knox Taylor, daughter to General and future president Zachary Taylor. This action did not plaese the general in the least bit. The marriage was short lived- the newlyweds contracted malaria at the Davis Plantation in Mississippi 3 months after the marriage- Sarah dying, Jeff surviving but it was touch and go with him. General Taylor later warmed up some to his son-in-law while Davis served under him in Taylor's campaigns in the Mexican War;

23- IIRC, Extra Billy carried an umbrella with him on campaign;

24- This triumphal march is the Grand Review;

25- Chase Whiting graduated at the top of his class, being the top rated student in each of his classes throughout his cadetship at USMA. INCORRECT
