Default Trivia Game # 42 - Week 1

Time to begin a new game. New players are welcome to join at any time, but the first week of any game is always an especially good time to start.

Here are the questions for Week 1 of Game # 42.

1. What Civil War general became president of Washington College in Virginia?

2. What two American presidents saw action at the Battle of Antietam (Sharpsburg)?

3. A substantial part of what Southern capital city was destroyed in a fire on February 17, 1865?

4. What noted Confederate leader graduated 23rd in the West Point Class of 1828?

5. (Two point question) The patriotic ballad “Hold the Fort” was inspired by messages interchanged between William T. Sherman and Gen. John Corse at what battle?

Answers to the questions for Week 1 will be due by 6 PM EDT on Saturday, September 30.

Good luck!
