Answers to the questions for Week 4 will be due by 6 PM EST on Saturday, May 6.
In question 20, I am looking for one Union general and one Confederate general whose units fought each other on July 1 and who both served under Johnston in Utah. You must give both names to get credit for a correct answer.
It has been called to my attention that one of our players thinks there may be multiple generals who meet the criteria. I only have the names of one Union and one Confederate general, so it would be a good idea for everyone to be ready to provide a source for your answer, in case your answer differs from the two names I have.
Please remember that the correct answer must involve generals whose units fought each other on July 1. Thus, if Union general John Doe's unit and Confederate general Richard Roe's unit both fought at Gettysburg but were not fighting each other on July 1, John Doe and Richard Roe would not be correct answers to this question.

I have been battling allergies this week, and quite out of commission, but I will attempt to answer those questions I have had time to research.
16. The mascot of the 101st is called "Young Abe" and reputed to be a descendant of "Old Abe", the War Eagle of the 8th Wisconsin.
17. Out on a limb with John Buchanan Floyd (He was the camel guy when Sec. of War) INCORRECT
18. Old Bob or Old Robin as he is sometimes referred to, was Lincoln's horse in Springfield, IL. He was in the funeral procession with a 'funeral blanket' and headpiece of feathers.
19. Private Jacob Parrot was the Ohio soldier who was the first to actually RECEIVE the Medal of Honor, on March 25, 1863.
20. This one has me stumped as there were so many of the generals at Gettysburg that were a part of the Utah expedition. Hancock, Reynolds, Buford are all listed as having served there. On source (Albert Nofi's Civil War Treasury) has Robert E. Lee listed for the "Mormon War". I also found McLaws and E.P. Alexander, (and slew of others not at Gettysburg or not on July 1st). Nofi says (but does not list!) that "50 future Union generals and 30 future Confederate generals" were with Johnston on that campaign.
All of which I am sure will not get me a point, but I did want you to know I tried!! NICE TRY, BUT YOU'RE RIGHT, YOU DON'T GET A POINT
Miss Markie
