Here are the answers to the questions for Week 3:

11. The commander of the 1st Vermont Cavalry and the leader of the charge was Elon Farnsworth.

12. Norris headed the Confederate Secret Service Bureau.

13. Martin called the truce so that Union wounded lying between the lines could be moved out of the way of an advancing brush fire. (No, Robert B., they’re not telling me what you’re reading, but I’m glad to know your source corroborates mine.)

14. The dissidents nominated the same man who had been the Republican candidate in 1856, John C. Fremont. Fremont withdrew his candidacy in September and supported Lincoln.

15. The last surviving Confederate general was Felix Huston Robertson, who died 4/20/1928. Robertson, born in 1839, would have been a member of the West Point graduating class of June, 1861, but resigned prior to graduation to join the Confederacy.

Halfway through Game # 34, we still have five players with perfect scores.
