In March 1863, the Confederacy adopted its second national flag, which was intended to bear no resemblance either to the first national flag or the Union's Stars and Strips. Unfortunately, during battle this flag's long white field often made it appear to be a surrender flag. This flag draped Stonewall Jackson's casket in 1864 and flew over Fort Sumter until the Confederate evacuation of Charleston in February 1865

Good Morning! I had a request for a forecast of the next days trivia question posting time, since the times vary on weekends and such, so that will be included each day from now on. Thanks for the input!

Yesterday's Question: My sources say that the first Confederate Flag ever made was used to drape the coffin of Stonewall Jackson after his death. Does anyone know where it is today? Is it buried with him?

What prison was widely known as the "Georgia Hell"?

Not sure where that flag is, Mike...I'll see if the VMI archives has any info on it....

Don't know where the name may be written out in this format, but it must be Andersonville!

The only Prison I could find any info on was Andersonville prison. I didn't see it called "Georgia Hell" but from what I read it sure sounded like it!

Only georgia prison I can think of is Andersonville.
