4. Helm incorrectly stated in a telegram to CS forces in Shiloh, that Buell was pressing for Decatur (the opposite direction), when instead he was really moving to Grant's aid at Shiloh.

5. Sheats was expelled from the Alabama House of Representatives and imprisoned for treason, though he was never tried for the charge. When his state seceded, he was released.
