Here are the answers to the Week 4 questions:

16. 338 million tons of military stores were transported by river for the Union armies in the Western theater, as compared to only 153.1 million by rail. Thus, the percentage transported by rail was 31%. I would accept any answer between 26% and 36%.

17. The commander of a division held the rank of Major General.

18. The real name of "Johnny Shiloh", the "Drummer Boy of Chickamauga," was John (or Johnny) Clem (or Klem)

19. The pro-Southern song "Maryland, My Maryland," written in Louisiana, became the state song of a Union state.

20. Presbyterian pastor Thomas V. Moore was Chaplain of the Confederate Congress.

As you note, the official answer to Question 17, as given to me by Mike, was "Major General." Two people indicated that "Brigadier General" might be a correct answer. If either Sockknitter or Felinelady can give me a source supporting the answer "Brigadier General," I will give both of them credit for this question.

I would caution all players that, as a general rule, you should assume that each question has only one correct answer. If I ever post a question that does have more than one correct answer, I will try my hardest to make it clear that there is more than one correct answer.

Please try to avoid giving me responses including more than one answer, unless you are absolutely certain that all of your answers are correct and you simply can't figure out which of your answers is the one I'm looking for.

The scores at the end of Week 4, pending any possible adjustments:

Cindyscoops 23
Raggedrebel 22
Sockknitter 20
Bill_torrens 19
Traveller 18
Aphillbilly 14
Dawna 14
Felinelady 6
Jackbluelight 4
Rivrrat 3

Sockknitter has provided sources showing that Brigadier Generals, as well as Major Generals, sometimes commanded a division. She and Felinelady will receive credit for correct answers to question 17.

Reggedrebel 22
Sockknitter 21
Bill_torrens 19
Traveller 18
Aphillbilly 14
Dawna 14
Felinelady 7
Jackbluelight 4
Rivrrat 3
