VAUGHAN, Alfred Jefferson Jr. CSA


Born May 10 1830, Dinwiddie Cty VA
Died October 1 1899, Indianapolis IN
Pre-War Profession Civil engineer, deputy US surveyor, planter.
War Service 1861 raised a company of recruits - Capt., became part of 13th Tennessee, Lt. Col., Belmont, Col., Shiloh, Perryville, Chickamauga, November 1863 Brig. Gen., commanded Vaughan’s Bde/Hindman’s Divn at Missionary Ridge, Atlanta campaign, Vining's Station (w), permanently disabled.
Post War Career Farmer, merchant, court clerk.
