Born December 6 1809, Bethel VT
Died December 18 1903, Montpelier VT
Pre-War Profession Woollen manufacturer, politician, judge.
War Service February 1862 Col. of 8th Vermont, New Orleans, Port Hudson, Sabine Pass, Shenandoah campaign, commanded 2nd Bde/1st Divn/XIX Corps at Cedar Creek - Medal of Honor, February 1865 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers.
Post War Career Lieutenant governor, pension agent, farmer.
