Born January 12 1819, Cohasset MA
Died March 20 1900, Cohasset MA
Pre-War Profession Graduated West Point 1841 (1st in class), engineer duty, Mexican war, coastal engineering work.
War Service February 1861 chief engineer at Ft Pickens, Maj., November 1861 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers, commanded 2nd Bde/3rd Divn/III Corps at Cedar Mountain, Second Bull Run (w), on sick leave until July 1864, superintendent at West Point, chief engineer at Nashville.
Brevet Promotions Brig. Gen. U.S.A. 13, Maj. Gen. U.S.A. March 13 1865, Maj. Gen. U.S.V. June 12 1865.
Post War Career Army service in engineers, retired 1883.
