Pre-War Profession Graduated West Point 1855, frontier duty, Seminole war, garrison duty.
War Service August 1861 Hunter's chief commissary in Kansas, performed the same duties for Butler in New Orleans, chief of artillery in Dept. of the South, September 1863 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers, commanded 2nd Divn/X Corps in Petersburg campaign, commanded Independent Divn/XXIV Corps in Appomattox campaign.
Brevet Promotions Maj. Gen. U.S.V. October 1 1864, Brig. Gen. U.S.A. March 13 1865, Maj. Gen. U.S.A. March 13 1865.
Post War Career Army service, commanded District of Henrico, depot commissary, resigned 1870, businessman. |
