Born April 24 1822, West Bloomfield NY
Died January 9 1891, Calverton MD
Pre-War Profession Fur hunter and merchant.
War Service April 1861 Col.. of 7th Ohio, Cross Lanes WV, commanded 3rd Bde/Shields' Divn at Winchester, Port Republic, May 1862 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers, commanded 1st Bde/3rd Divn/V Corps at Fredericksburg (w), Chancellorsville, commanded defences of Baltimore.
Brevet Promotions Maj. Gen. U.S.V. March 13 1865.
Post War Career Postmaster of Baltimore.
