Born December 22 1831, Hunter NY
Died December 1 1874, Boston MA
Pre-War Profession Graduated West Point 1853, artillery service.
War Service May 1861 Capt. and asst quartermaster, August 1861 Col. of 1st Connecticut Artillery, Yorktown, Seven Days, commanded Hookers' artillery at Fredericksburg, November 1862 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers, commanded artillery reserve at Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, commanded 4th Bde/2nd Divn/II Corps at Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor (w), extensive sick leave.
Brevet Promotions Maj. Gen. U.S.V. August 1 1864, Brig. Gen. U.S.A. March 13 1865, Maj. Gen. U.S.A. March 13 1865.
