Born February 20 1838, Bath Cty VA
Died May 30 1864, Bethesda Church VA
Pre-War Profession Lawyer.
War Service May 1861 Maj. in 13th Virginia, First Manassas, Shenandoah Valley campaign, Seven Days, Cedar Mountain, Second Manassas, Sharpsburg, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, May 1863 Col., Gettysburg, Mine Run, Wilderness, Spotsylvania, killed in manoeuvring before Cold Harbor, Brig. Gen. promotion confirmed by Senate the following day.
