Born March 12 1827, Liberty VA
Died March 28 1897, Chesterfield CH VA
Pre-War Profession Graduated VMI 1850, farmer, merchant.
War Service 1861 Capt. in a cavalry company, First Manassas, September 1861 Col. of 24th Virginia, Peninsula campaign, Williamsburg (w), Second Manassas, Sharpsburg, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg (w), New Berne, May 1864 Brig. Gen., commanded Terry’s Bde/Pickett’s Divn at Petersburg, Dinwiddie CH (w), Appomattox.
Post War Career Politician, penitentiary supervisor, supervisor of Confederate Soldiers' Home.
