TWIGGS, David Emanuel CSA


Born 1790, Richmond Cty GA
Died July 15 1862, Augusta GA
Pre-War Profession Commissioned in US army in 1812, War of 1812, Mexican War, command of Dept of Texas, surrendered to Col. McCulloch of Texas, dismissed from US Army March 1861.
War Service May 1861 Maj. Gen. in Provisional Confederate army, command of Dist. of Louisiana but was never active in that post, died of old age.
