Born May 15 1815, Exmouth, England
Died December 1 1889, Wilkes Cty NC
Pre-War Profession 1832 commissioned in 14th Regiment of Foot in British Army, colonial duty, emigrated to US in 1842.
War Service November 1861 elected Col. of 34th North Carolina, April 1862 Col. of 11th North Carolina, North Carolina coastal defences, joined the ANV in 1863, Gettysburg (w), captured in the retreat to Virginia, released nine months later, April 1864 Brig. Gen. of state troops, operated in Roanoke River and Weldon Railroad area, February 1865 Brig. Gen. - refused the appointment.
