War Service 1861 Lt. of artillery, Capt., February 1862 Lt. Col. in 8th Kentucky, Fort Donelson, Col., Holly Springs, Vicksburg, Chattanooga, brigade command in Forrest's cavalry, Brice's Cross Roads, June 1864 Brig. Gen., Franklin and Nashville campaign, command of Dist. of Western Kentucky.
Post War Career Went to Mexico, returned to US, farmer, prison commissioner.
