LIGHTBURN, Joseph Andrew Jackson USA


Born September 21 1824, Webster PA
Died May 17 1901, Lewis Cty WV
Pre-War Profession Beaten by T J Jackson for a place at West Point, enlisted in US Army 1846, recruiting duty, resigned at Sgt. 1851.
War Service August 1861 Col. of 4th West Virginia, Charleston, Gauley Bridge, March 1863 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers, commanded 2nd Bde/2nd Divn/XV Corps in Vicksburg campaign, Missionary Ridge, commanded a brigade in Atlanta campaign, Kennesaw Mountain, Atlanta (w), served in West Virginia and Maryland.
