KETCHUM, William Scott USA


Born July 7 1813, Norwalk CT
Died June 28 1871, Baltimore MD
Pre-War Profession Graduated West Point 1834, served in Florida and on the frontier.
War Service 1861 Maj. in 4th US Infantry, November 1861 Lt. Col. of 10th US Infantry, February 1862 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers, served in recruiting depots and quartermasters department.
Brevet Promotions Brig. Gen. U.S.A. March 13 1865, Maj. Gen. U.S.A. March 13 1865.
Post War Career Army service in the Adjutant General's office, retired 1870.
Notes Died under mysterious circumstances, probably murdered by his landlady.
