KIERNAN, James Lawlor USA


Born October 26 1837, Cty Galway, Ireland
Died November 29 1869, New York NY
Pre-War Profession Emigrated to US, doctor, published medical journal.
War Service 1861 surgeon attached to 69th New York, First Bull Run, surgeon of 6th Missouri Cavalry, Pea Ridge, resigned May 1863, August 1863 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers, commanded the post at Milliken's Bend, resigned February 1864 due to ill health.
Post War Career US consul to China, doctor.
