Died May 28 1863, Washington DC
Pre-War Profession Graduated West Point 1861.
War Service 1861 2nd Lt. in 1st US Artillery, 1st Lt., First Bull Run, Ball's Bluff, Peninsula campaign, Seven Days, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville (w), died following operation, May 1863 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers.
Notes Second cousin of Confederate Gen. Edmund Kirby Smith.
