KRYZANOWSKI, Wladimir USA


Born July 8 1824, Raznova, Poland
Died January 31 1887, New York NY
Pre-War Profession Emigrated to US 1846, civil engineer.
War Service 1861 raised a Polish regiment - part of 58th New York - October 1861 Col., served under Fremont and Schurz, Shenandoah Valley campaign, Second Bull Run, November 1862 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers - not confirmed by Senate, regimental command at Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, joined Hooker's expedition to Chattanooga.
Brevet Promotions Brig. Gen. U.S.V. March 2 1865.
Post War Career Civil servant in Treasury, charge with theft of public monies - charges dropped, customs inspector in Central America, customs agent.
