Born July 14 1830, Kinnegad, Westmeath Cty, Ireland
Died November 28 1892, Atlanta GA
Pre-War Profession Enlisted US Army 1851, served in Florida and on the frontier, 1859 commissioned 2nd Lt.
War Service 1861 1st Lt in 4th US Artillery, Ft Pickens, Pensacola, Capt., Lt. Col., siege of Charleston, chief of artillery in X Corps, commanded 2nd Divn/XXV Corps at Petersburg, May 1865 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers.
Brevet Promotions Brig. Gen. U.S.V. January 1 1865, Brig. Gen. U.S.A. March 13 1865, Maj. Gen. U.S.V. November 24 1865.
Post War Career Army service in the artillery.
