Died April 16 1871, Indianapolis IN
Pre-War Profession Lawyer, politician, Mexican war.
War Service April 1861 Col. of 7th Indiana, Laurel Hill, Rich Mountain, Corrick's Ford, September 1861 appointed Brig. Gen. of Volunteers, Cheat Mountain, commanded 17 Bde in the Army of the Ohio, commanded 12th Divn in opposing Bragg's Kentucky invasion, resigned February 1863 to take his seat in Congress.
Post War Career US congressman.
